This is obviously our most favorite fair so far...What a surprise to find this sign welcoming us. Looks like we may make the local Polk County Itemizer Observer paper also.
Now this really neat. The Polk County Fair has a very large playground area for the kids. Adults can sit around talk story and easily keep tabs on the kids.
The Glenn Tadina "Swing Street" band playing. This was great to wander the grounds, listening to Glenn Miller standards, munching on Kettle Corn, taking in the well manicured grounds.
The grounds at the Polk County Fair appeared spotless. Freshly painted and very neat.
Lisa Letsch with her sisters 2 week old Limousin calf, Kyser. Click here for more Limousin information. |

Nubian goat Misty being groomed by Mitchell Padilla on the right. Nathan Padilla on the left. Older brothers teaching younger brothers how to do things is a big part of 4H.
Here was another 4H program for dog obedience training. These 4H members had just completed a judging of their dog training skills.
Here is Judith Angell bead maker with a mystery person having a bad hair
day (Mystery person was blanked out at her request). Judith makes beads out of small pieces of paper. She rolls them around a toothpick, dampens the end with a little white glue and strings them on fishing line. The effect is striking. |
